The final video in the “From Surviving to Thriving Series” is available today at ExchangePress.com/surviving-to-thriving
This has been a labor of love provided to the early childhood field by Dan Huber of Video Active Productions, Roger Neugebauer, World Forum Foundation Global Impact Engineer and Co-Founder of Exchange Press, Hinge Brokers and Exchange magazine.
Roger and Dan explain, “We conducted over 400 hours of interviews with 96 ECE specialists from 23 countries. All 96 people will be listed at the end of Video #10.” Our great thanks to Roger and Dan for their tireless efforts and this free gift to the early childhood field at a crucial time. We hope you will continue to share these videos widely, and that they will be a source of inspiration and hope you can return to whenever you need support.
As we all move forward during this continuing time of uncertainty, an Out of the Box Training Kit called, “Finding the Questions Worth Asking,” might be helpful. It focuses on an article written by Ann Pelo, and calls us to keep using our relationships with children to guide our work. She quotes Louse Boyd Caldwell as urging educators to listen to children “for a surprise and the birth of a new idea.” Ann explains: “This way of listening – with deep curiosity, with a willingness to be surprised, with an expectation of discovery – asks us to give ourselves over to a child’s line of reasoning, to fall into her intellectual landscape as into a new and wondrous world.” Right now, especially, it might be lovely to spend more time in that world.
